August 2014 and for the first time in 58 years two airworthy Avro Lancasters take to the skies above RAF Coningsby. These two aircraft were affectionately known as 'Thumper' and 'Vera'. Thumper is officially called PA474 - The City of Lincoln and is part of the UK's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, whilst Vera is proudly owned by The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. After flying some 3,700 miles and around 20 hours of flying Vera made it to RAF Coningsby Lincolnshire to earn a few days rest before taking part in many events and airshows during the summer of 2014. This composite image shows the two Lancasters heading towards the sun on the evening of August 12th 2014.
Printed on 310gsm polycottom canvas, stretched around a wood frame and ready to hang as a wonderful memory of a once in a lifetime scene.
